Fran Walsh wrote and mostly produced Meet the Feebles, Braindead, Heavenly Creatures, Jack Brown Genius, The Frighteners, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, King Kong, The Lovely Bones, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, and Mortal Engines.

She also worked as a casting director for Braindead, an associate producer for The Frighteners, an additional second unit director and a lyricist for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, and a composer for Gollum's Song, Into the West, and A Shadow Lies Between Us.

She also portrayed Mother at Park in Braindead and Passerby in the Director's Cut of The Frighteners.
